Move the slider to fold the heading illustration. This website does not read your lid sensor.

Close the lid.
Cue the little delight.

OpenBendy reads your MacBook’s hinge angle and bends the live desktop with it. Open the lid and everything settles back.

As subtle as you like.

Choose Silk, Shade or Frost. Adjust the perspective, blur, shadow and the angle where your desktop clears.

Your desktop stays on your Mac.

Screen frames are processed in memory. No uploads, no saved recording, no account.

A menu bar away.

Turn the effect on or pause it from the menu bar. Press Esc whenever you want your desktop back.

Ready, set,
bend.

You’ll need an Apple silicon MacBook with a compatible lid sensor and macOS 14 or later.

  1. Unzip OpenBendy and move it to Applications.
  2. Allow Screen Recording in System Settings so the effect can use your live desktop.
  3. Open OpenBendy, enable the desktop effect, and slowly lower the lid.
